About the Show

Learn the revealing backstory to the iconic character of Jane Tennison in this Prime Suspect prequel starring Stefani Martini (The Last Kingdom) in the role Dame Helen Mirren made famous. The three-part miniseries follows 22-year-old Tennison’s first days on the police force, where she copes with blatant sexism before being flung into the deep end of a murder investigation.

Joining Martini in the ensemble cast are Alun Armstrong (Downton Abbey, Tom Jones), Blake Harrison (World on Fire, A Very English Scandal), Jordan Long (Unforgotten, Kingsman), Sam Reid (Interview with the Vampire), and Daniel Ezra (The Missing), among others.

From 1991 to 2006, the original Prime Suspect won numerous awards and legions of devoted fans alike for its star Helen Mirren’s warts-and-all portrayal of Detective Chief Inspector (and later Detective Superintendent) Jane Tennison.
